Well, to be honest, I am officially sick of racing! Not the actual racing, or working endless hours on the car, or winning, or losing...But purely the drama that comes with being a competitve racer. Take it for what it is, but I can reassure you none of this would be happening if Shane only won 2 races a year. We show up to the track like every other of the 90 cars that sign in, to TRY to win. Do we think Shane should win "every" race? NO, but he's gonna try his hardest regardless of the fact that some people think he should "let" others win. We are thankful for the achievements that have come our way, and know that someday this will come to end. And when that time comes, you'll look back and realize who your true friends are, and which ones make all kinds of excuses to hate because of your success.

Did the track make a "bad" call Sunday night? Who cares! There are countless times I can think of that I thought Shane shoulda went to the back, but didn't. There is always 2 sides to a story, and track officials do the best they can, because they love racing. One time, you'll get a break, the next you might think you got screwed. Deal with it! Learn to take the good with the bad! The drama in the pits Sunday was nothing to do with the call on the track, but more of tempers flaring from anger that apparently has been brewing for some time, as the money in one's pocket definitely confirmed that.

I debated whether on not to even bring this subject up, but I guess I sometimes get defensive, as this is my life. We don't go camping, or attend family gatherings, or take summer vacations, or go to the zoo, or park on Saturday afternoon. Me and Mason sacrifice alot to allow Shane to race, and Yes, I could put my foot down, and say "quit". But ultimately, for the most part, we enjoy racing, and have met some wonderful people, and usually have an awesome time at the track, regardless of how Shane finishes. I'd rather be drinking a beer with our racing buddies on a night he places last, than sitting home, because of a few bad apples on the tree of the racing community. We do our best to treat others the way we would like to be treated, and by that I am only speaking for Shane and I, as I have no control of any of our crew, fans, family or supporters.

Well, now to the GOOD STUFF.....
Congrats to #37 Ryan Kriese on his first win of the season @ North Central Speedway! He ran a awesome race, and we were truly happy for him!! Good job, Ryan!
Also, Congrats to #2 Denis Czech on his first win of the season @ Golden Spike Speedway!! After 13 second place finishes, it was about time! Good Job, Denis!
I almost forgot about Jonny Yilek in the Super Stocks @ North Central Speedway!! It truly was a weekend for first time winners! Good Job, JY!!
Have a good week everyone! Learn to live and let go! Move on, and be happy!!

My Baby's a Big Boy!

Congrats to Dave Read on his 1st Super Stock win!!!!

Racing through the maze at the Bounce Depot

Axel getting a ride!

This past week was a great week for me. Mason is now wearing big boy underwear (like any of you care), but seriously if you have kids you'd know what kind of accomplishment this is!! It adds such independence, and is a money saver at that!

Friday we raced at I-94 in Sauk Centre where Shane won the MWM feature, though only 9 cars finished, I think, out of the 25 scheduled to start. The track was horribly rough from all the rain accumulated the days prior. The A-mod broke on the first lap of the feature, so he wasn't able to continue. The heim joint broke off the J-bar or something!

Saturday morning I took Mason to the bounce depot as a reward for using the potty, and boy, did we ever have fun! Then we headed to my cousin's "5 years cancer free" party, where Mason stayed to play games and watch the talent show, as I snuck out and headed to Brainerd. Shane ended up winning both the MWM and A-mod feature.

Sunday was the Golden Spike, where Shane ended up 2nd after an awesome battle til the end with Ebert, who took home the trophy!

Rainy Daze

Sorry Matt, I stole your picture off your myspace, and it didn't work the greatest! :)

Thursday was Willmar, where Shane finished 2nd in the mwm feature behind #11w -Matt Wiesman. This was his first win since '07, and we were very excited for him and his crew! It was a long time coming, as he's been finishing 2nd alot, and putting up some good battles for the lead this year! In the modified feature he ended up getting a flat tire, so did not finish the race.

Friday was Sauk Centre where he was running 2nd in the mwm, and all of a sudden a big cloud of smoke came out. Initially I thought it was the engine or tranny, but it turned out to be the J-bar bolt broke, so the tire was rubbing on something, and that was the smoke I saw. In the A-mod Shane finished 2nd behind Jason Voigt!

Saturday is normally Brainerd, but they cancelled due to rain, so we drove to Ogilvie, and sat there in the rain, until they finally decided to cancel as well! So we hit up the big town of Rice, for their annually street band, and bar activities! It was a fun night, but probably should've opted for bed before 5am. Mason got home around 9am, and we basically watched movies and slept all day while Shane worked on his cars. Don't ask me how there could be work to do, when you didn't even race the night prior. But I guess there's always a little something to look over.

Sunday was the spike, and they got so much rain, the track was in pretty rough shape for the heats... Cars were bouncing everywhere. They bladed it for the feature, so it was a little smoother, but still cars were crashing everywhere. Shane luckily made through all of the wrecks with minor sheet metal damage, and ended up winning the feature!

Fairly Dirty

Willmar's fair was in town, so they had racing on Wednesday, instead of Thursday. Shane won the feature with the Midwest mod, and finished 2nd in the Modified special, with Dave Cain taking home the $1,500 check!

Thursday Shane went to Grand Rapids, and didn't fair too well. He ended up 5th in the mwm, with Dan Ebert winning the feature. I knew there was no hope when I got a text after Shane & Dan's heat race saying "Shane has nothin' for Ebert"! The gears broke in the A mod during the heat, so he wasn't able to race the feature.

Friday was mudfest at Sauk Centre! It misted from 6pm until, well, all flippin evening, but they continued to race. I have never put so many tear-off on a helmet in my life! Guys were wiping their shield with towels because of the rain coming down. Shane ended up 2nd in the mwm, behind Brandon Nelson, and only made it a couple laps in the mod, before he got a flat tire. Congrats to Ryan Canon and his crew on a nice win!

Saturday was Brainerd, where Shane ended up 3rd in the mwm, behind a very close battle to the line with Jamie Thorstad & Dan Ebert. The A-mod was just not working the way it has been, and Shane ended up getting passed by pretty much every car..LOL ;) Joey Jenson won the feature!

Sunday, the Spike was rained out from too much rain the previous days, so we headed to the demo derby at the fair, and relaxed the rest of the evening. Tuesday we took Mason to the 4-wheeler and dirt bike races at the fair, and hit up a few rides. Wednesday we checked out all the animals at the Willmar fair. Thursday, Mason went with his grammy and Papa to the pig races at the fair. Friday, uncle Paul took him to the truck pull. Saturday, auntie Heidi took him to the demo derby, and wow, does he love crashing! He prefers to see a good spin out, or crash at the races, than come home with a trophy, so I knew he'd enjoy the demo! Needless to say, he's more than likely 'faired' out! Thank Goodness they only come around once a year (those $9 ferris wheel rides will kill a girl's savings) ;)

HAVE A GREAT WEEK!

A Bit of This~A Bit of That

Thursday night was KRA, and most racers would be happy to have won the feature, but Shane was called for jumping the start in his heat race with the B-mod, so he was a bit irritated. I saw him jump the flag, but he says he will continue to take off when the guy in front of him takes off, and still won't look at the flag, but the car in front of him. I guess if they catch once out of 200+ green flags a year, it's probably nothing to worry about!! The A-mod well..... He was running 4th on the high side of the track, when all of a sudden, a big yellow tractor tire comes flying right at him! Keith Tourville was battling Andy Gordon for the lead, and pegged a tractor tire on the infield, and it flew to the high side of the track, hit Shane's front end, and broke his tie rod. So he pulled it into the pits! Andy Gordon did end up winning the A-mod feature!

Friday we drove to Sauk Centre even though the radar showed rain was coming. And sure enough, it did... I was so looking forward to sitting in the stands with Audrey and Tarah, and the kids. But instead, we all went and ate at Famous Dave's, went home, sat in the hot tub, relaxed, and got some much needed sleep!

Saturday went awesome! Shane ended up getting clean sweeps in both the A-mod and MWM. I guess what more is there to say? Oh, I missed part of the A-mod feature, cause I lost my cell phone. So I was driving everywhere on the golf cart looking for it, and kept calling it with Shane's phone, and finally saw it light up in the grass! That was a relief!

Sunday was Golden Spike with the MWM, where Shane took 3rd behind Bud Martini, who won, and Dan Ebert, who finished 2nd. Thank you to the #2 crew of Denis Czech for feeding us after the races, or should I say Genna, those tacos were amazing!!

This week is Fair on Tuesday, Willmar on WEDNESDAY, nothing on Thursday, racing Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.....
